Launched in December 2020 as part of the Presidential Development Council, the Fund for Innovation in Development - FID aims to support innovative solutions, based on evidence of impact, aimed at fighting poverty and inequality by promoting collaborations between the innovation ecosystems of international solidarity and research.

One year after the launch of its call for projects and the selection of the first funded innovations, the FID will organize a meeting on June 29, 2022, in the presence of Esther Duflo, to review the conditions that gave birth of the Fund, its first months of life and to share the results and perspectives that are emerging. This event will bring together all the stakeholders who contributed to the construction and launch of the FID, as well as partners from the research, international solidarity and innovation communities who contributed to the first rounds of the call for projects or followed them.

On this occasion, the FID teams will be pleased to present the projects selected in the framework of its call for projects, on the different open funding stages. Two sessions will allow the audience to meet and listen to some of the first teams funded by the FID.

They will also discuss the results and prospects of the FID in the perspective of its major strategic objectives: to drive and accelerate innovative solutions with high transformative potential based on solid evidence of impact, in response to major global development challenges. This is an opportunity for all innovation teams and development actors - research institutes, NGOs, private sector, governments, and donors - to exchange with the FID team on its innovative approach and its partnership and funding opportunities.

This event will be held in person and virtually on June 29, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The meeting will take place at the Mistral Amphitheater, 3 place Louis Armand, 75012 Paris.
